De kaart is ook nog eens geplastificeerd en daarmee scheur- en watervast.  ITMB is pleased to re-introduce the Channel Islands map area after a lengthy hiatus of preparing new artwork. The first version of this part of Europe was licensed artwork by a local firm in Jersey, and upon running out of copies of the printed map, we opted to prepare fresh artwork of our own to continue this interesting corner of the continent to continue to be available. The islands, collectively known in English as the Channel Islands, are one of those anomalies that make Europe so attractive. They are part of Great Britain, but not part of the UK; hence, they are not part of the EU. They are self-governing entities ‘owned’ by the Queen in her role of being Duchess of Normandy.     ITMB, being based in Vancouver, BC, understandably has a local/regional market for our map line. We have a map of Western Canada, as well as an atlas, a very nice map of BC itself, a map of the south half of BC, and a map of part of BC combined with Washington State. What we did not have, until now, was a map covering the most touristically-visited part of all of Canada – namely, the southern halves of both British Columbia and its neighbour, Alberta, with a small amount of Washington State, Idaho, and Montana (to assist those heading north and needing to know about border crossings). Therefore, ITMB is pleased to announce the release of Southern BC and Alberta. Side One covers BC from the US border (with a carry-on to Seattle) north to Prince George and east to the Alberta border, with a carry-on to Calgary. Certainly, this is the only map of Guam by any major cartographic publishing house. Here are some details: Guam is a north-south island considerably north of New Guinea, and forms part of the American-held group of islands known as the Northern Marianas. Its capital is Hagatna, and the main town is called Tamuning. The island has a well-developed international airport in the middle portion of the island, with a large US military airbase in the northeast corner. The vast majority of the island is touristic, and well worth a visit. The island was "discovered" by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, and Hagatna is the oldest "European" city in the Pacific, dating from 1686. It also covers a wider area than previously, so we have decided to call this map a 1st Edition; printed on durable ITM plastic paper.     Mooi autokaart in overzichtelijke kleur van ITMB. Indexed. English text and legends. The coastline of Canada’s British Columbia is long and varied. The best-known portion is the part just north and west of Vancouver, known as the Sunshine Coast. The rugged Coast Mountain Range makes road-building impractical for much of the interior, so communities such as Gibsons, Sechelt, and Powell River are joined together by Highway 101 and by ferries. Many Fiords take kayakers deep into pristine wilderness areas, and former logging roads are now commonly used for wilderness hikes. The famous Strait of Georgia, used by cruise ships to Alaska, cuts through the middle of the map, with the largely unpopulated and wild Bute Inlet leading TO Waddington Glacier and the vast Homathko Icefield. Side 2 of the map covers southwestern BC, including all of Vancouver Island and the southern interior as far as Nelson and north to 100 Mile House.     Wegenatlas op diverse schaal voor Polynesië. This is the only way we could think of to portray hundreds of relatively small islands efficiently. The atlas covers the Cook Islands, Easter Island, Hawaiian Islands, Nauru, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti/French Polynesia, and Tonga. It is not complete for all of what might be considered Polynesia, in that Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvalu, and New Caledonia were left out because we do not have artwork for these areas, but this is as good as it gets for now! Hawaii occupies 44 pages of the atlas; the Solomons 11 pages, tiny Nauru one, Samoa 15, the Cook Islands an amazing 20 pages, and Tahiti 20. Easter Island is included because the evidence is that the original settlers migrated from Polynesia, not Peru, and occupies another 18 pages. Maps of the South Pacific islands are difficult to prepare, being small land masses in a vast ocean. Onmisbaar voor diegenen die deze tocht gaan doen! This is actually completely new artwork, thanks to ITMB’s relationship with the Canadian government’s mapping office. We have replaced our earlier artwork with detailed NTS cartography that is superbly precise, and overlaid it with trail and camping facilities. In this map, we cover not only the renowned WCT itself, but the fabulous Carmanah old-growth forest in the interior of Vancouver Island, and the Broken Islands Group, part of the Pacific Rim National Park complex. This is truly a marvelous map of part of the west coast region of BC’s wonderful Vancouver Island.
